Gas Furnaces

American Standard gas furnace

These systems burn propane or natural gas to produce heat in the burner. The heat is transferred to a heat exchanger, where a blower motor pushes air across it, warming the air before distributing it through your vents.

Electric Air
Handlers

American Standard electric air handler

Electric air handlers use heating elements to generate heat. Air is pulled through the heat exchanger and warmed by the electric coils. A blower motor then circulates the heated air through your ductwork and into your home.

Heatpumps

American Standard side discharge heat pump

Heat pumps work by extracting heat from the outdoor air. As the refrigerant absorbs this heat, it turns into a vapor, which is transferred through indoor coils. A blower motor then circulates air across the heated coils, sending warm air throughout your home.

Repair or Replace?

  • Furnaces can last up to 15 years depending on the brand and customer care.

  • If repairs become more often or exceed more than half the cost of the replacement, then replacement is your best option.

  • Upgrading your system is a smart investment that will in turn decrease utility bills and repair costs while enhancing your overall comfort.
